Otoño 2026

The bioeconomy is advancing across all sectors and seems to be gradually entering a phase of greater integration into the productive fabric and the real economy. We can see this in this special edition of Savia Rural , which examines, on the one hand, several agricultural projects that are demonstrating through concrete actions that circularity and the valorization of byproducts are a viable and profitable approach; and, on the other hand, the expert opinions of figures like Manuel Lainez—former coordinator of the Spanish Bioeconomy Strategy—to better understand the current context and challenges of future initiatives with this sustainable approach, which could be crucial for Europe. And we haven't forgotten to include examples of rural revitalization, such as RITA's network of shared workshops or a tribute to the pioneering female shepherds of the Lower Lozoya region, in this year dedicated to women farmers and pastoralism.
